          The most common use of various malt extracts is in the production of beer and other fermented beverages. Extracts help shorten the production cycle by eliminating many of the hassles of wort preparation. The wort is obtained simply by dissolving the malt extract in hot water.

          The extracts are also used to mask unwanted flavors and odors, correct color and sweetness, and enhance aroma.
